Leewood Projects has been working with the Beeston & Chilwell for Integrated Transport group on Phase 2 of the successful Nottingham Express Transit [NET] system for four years, providing advice, information & comparative data on UK and European Light Rail systems and is appraising route proposals for Phase 3, to extend the system to:

  • Long Eaton
  • Stapleford
  • Stanton
  • Ilkeston

Kingston Area Rapid Transit Scheme (K-SMART)

Between 2002 and 2004, Leewood Projects carried a feasibility study & appraisal for a Light Rapid Transit scheme for the Kingston upon Thames area (K-SMART).

The redevelopment of St Pancras station, is the incredible £800 million architectural restoration and extension of a unique London landmark. When the station first opened in 1868 William Barlow’s train shed was a spectacular feat of Victorian engineering and held the world record for the largest enclosed space for many years.

Design works commenced in 1999 and construction in 2000 of the redevelopment for King’s Cross St Pancras Underground Station, one of the busiest stations on London’s underground system.The redevelopment includes the enlargement and refurbishment of the existing Tube Ticket Hall, a new Western Ticket Hall under the forecourt of St Pancras and a new Northern Ticket
King’s Cross St Pancras serves the Metropolitan and Circle underground lines at sub-surface level and the Northern, Victoria and Piccadilly Lines at deep level. The underground station also acts as an interchange for St Pancras and King’s Cross National & International rail service

Without incident.

Brought into LUL operations, Phase 1 Western Ticket Hall in May 2006, completed the Phase 2 NLA & PLA tunnels in April 2008. The Northern Ticket Hall was opened on November 29th 2009.

Opened in May 2000, Croydon Tramlink carry’s over 25 million passengers a year over a 28km (18.5 mile) modern tramway system covering South London, UK. The line is largely on an east-west axis through a central loop around Croydon and provides very useful, environmentally friendly, modern public transport. Tramlink has contributed to a 25% transport Modal Shift in South London. LINK.
